LAUREN CAIN

Lauren Cain (Ph.D) is a post-doctoral researcher at Avignon Université (France). She received her M.A in Communication from the University of Kentucky and her Ph.D. in Information Science from the University at Albany, State University of New York. Her research interests include risk and crisis communication, alerts and warnings, missing and endangered persons alerts, and emergency preparedness. Dr. Cain's missing persons research focuses on the contents of alert messages such as AMBER and Silver Alerts issued via Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) in the United States. Specifically, her work uses risk communication theory to establish best practices for writing WEAs issued for missing persons and to assess public perception of alert contents.
